Euton Daley, 49, lives with his wife Yasmin Sidhwa, 47, and three children, Kema, 14, Ishy, 11 and Akasha, eight, in Crescent Road, Cowley.
He said: "We will benefit from the child benefit increase but I would have liked to have seen more of an increase.
"Families like ours which don't claim tax credit still pay out quite a lot for childcare, especially if you are both working, and that child benefit would have helped to offset that."
He criticised plans to increase fuel duty without investing in public transport.
He said: "We have three children who all have active lives and we need them to get from one place to another and make sure they're safe.
"We try to use public transport and they all have bikes but sometimes you just have to use the car because it's not very reliable and it's so costly."
The biggest impact on his family's life would be extra homes and fixed rate mortgages as Mr Daley is hoping to move house.
