The Muslim Education Centre of Oxford (Meco) will mark the fifth anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq with a lecture by Iraqi activist and author Haifa Zangana.
The lecture, Five Years of Anglo-American Occupation of Iraq - The Reality vs the Rhetoric, is at Wolfson College, in Linton Road, on Sunday, at 4pm.
Ms Hangana was a political prisoner of Saddam Hussein's regime, but opposed the US-led invasion. She will also sign copies of her new book, City Of Widows: An Iraqi Woman's Account of War and Resistance. Admission to the lecture is free.
