Firefighters were called to tackle a blaze in a block of flats in Cutteslowe, north Oxford, this morning.
The fire started in a bedroom in the three-storey block in Park Close, at 7.50am.
Residents managed to get out and alert firefighters and no-one was hurt.
A spokesman for Oxfordshire Fire Service said: "The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental."
