THE Muslim Education Centre of Oxford (Meco) will mark the fifth anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq with a lecture by Iraqi activist and author Haifa Zangana.
The lecture entitled: Five Years of Anglo-American Occupation of Iraq - The Reality Vs the Rhetoric will take place at Wolfson College, Oxford, on Sunday, March 16, from 4pm.
Ms Hangana was a political prisoner of the Saddam regime, but strongly opposed the Iraq war.
As well as discussion and the screening of a short film, she will autograph copies of her new book: City Of Widows: An Iraqi Woman's Account of War and Resistance. The lecture is free and open to all and refreshments will be served.
