A 26-year-old man has been convicted of affray following a fight in the former Antiquity Hall pub, in Hythe Bridge Street, Oxford.
At Oxford Crown Court yesterday, Gareth Owen, 26, from Merseyside, was handed a 12-month jail sentence - suspended for 18-months - and ordered to complete 240 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay £1,358 compensation following the incident at the pub, which is now known as the Oxford Retreat.
Christopher Littler, 25, of Merseyside, was cleared of affray and Christopher Cook, 28, also of Merseyside, was cleared of affray and actual bodily harm.
