The inquest into a special forces soldier who died on only his second parachute jump in a training exercise over RAF Brize Norton in West Oxfordshire is due to open today.
Captain Daniel Wright, 25, was taking part in an exercise in November, 2005, when his parachute malfunctioned and did not open properly. His reserve parachute also failed.
Capt Wright landed near a country road in Weston-on-the-Green and was pronounced dead at the scene.
