Electricity has been restored to the vast majority of 1,000 homes near Didcot after stormy weather brought down power lines this morning.
Residents in Blewbury, Aston Tirrold and East Hendred suffered the power cut before 7am, after the high-voltage line was damaged in Cholsey near Wallingford.
Winds of up to 80mph hit the Cornish coast and more severe weather is expected, although Oxfordshire will escape the worst of the storm, according to the Met Office.
Morven Smith, a spokesman for Southern Electric, said power was back on in all the affected properties, apart from 30, by noon.
She added: "Our engineers are making excellent progress and we expect to have everyone back on supply by 3pm.
"This power cut has been caused by the weather conditions and we apologise for the inconvenience."
