Jennings Brewery, in the historic Cumbrian market town of Cockermouth, was established in 1828 by John Jennings, a local farmer, and remained an independent brewery until it was acquired by Marston's PLC in 2005.
Jennings Cumberland Ale 4% ABV RRP £1.69 This traditional ale has been brewed for more than 100 years using water drawn from the brewery's own well. It is a full-flavoured dark bitter with a delicate hop character which should appeal to the modern beer drinker.
Jennings Cocker Hoop 4.6% ABV RRP £1.89 This award-winning golden bitter, with its classic hop flavour and aroma was launched as a September ale in 1995, but proved so popular it is now available throughout the year. The name reflects the fact that the brewery sits on the banks of the River Cocker.
Jennings Sneck Lifter 5.1% ABV RRP £1.89 This award-winning dark beer is a strong and very satisfying ale, full of complex flavours. The name is derived from a man who was down to his last sixpence - but this enabled him to afford lift the latch (a sneck) of the pub door buy a drink, and hope that his friends might buy him one or two more!
