Armed robbers threatened staff in a bookmakers in Bicester night and then stole £300.
At about 7.10pm, two men wearing balaclavas entered William Hill Bookmakers in Market Square, forced one male customer to get on the floor, and then threatened two members of staff with a firearm.
Det Sgt Richard White, who is investigating the incident, said: "The two men threatened the man and woman and told them to hand over cash. They then left with around £300.
"I appeal to anyone who was in Market Square this evening, and saw two men running down the street, or possibly making off at speed in a vehicle, to contact police immediately.
"Thankfully nobody was injured during the robbery but were left very shaken by the incident."
