Peugeot's latest flying hatchback, the 308 GT, goes on sale in the UK next month, complete with 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine that packs in 175 horsepower.
It has a top speed of 140mph, a 0 to 62mph time of 8.3 seconds, and a combined-cycle fuel thirst of 37.1mpg.
Fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox, the 308 GT gets a lowered ride height, deeper front bumper panel and rear spoiler. Inside, there is an aluminium gearknob and foot pedals, and a new design of steering wheel.
Peugeot will release prices nearer to the launch date. Peugeot's other news is the arrival here in June of the 308 SW range, which replaces the current 307 SW.
Innovations include a panoramic glass sunroof that is 27 per cent larger, and a split-opening rear tailgate. Prices and full specification will be revealed closer to the on-sale date.
