PUPILS were on the ball at a Wantage school as they raced to net a world record today.
Teenagers from King Alfred's Community and Sports College took part in a nationwide attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest number of people performing "keepy uppies" at any one time - and they succeeded.
They also managed to raise £100 for Sport Relief in the process.
More than 60 pupils attempted to juggle the ball for at least ten seconds on any part of their body except their arms and hands, with 34 pupils managing the whole ten-second challenge.
PE teacher Scott Hooper said: "It was quite short notice so they didn't have much time to practise but they did really well."
More than 1,200 children from 23 schools from Blackpool to Plymouth took part in the event - including Oxford Community School - helping to smash the current record of 459 people.
