Nine out of ten pupils starting secondary school in Oxfordshire in September have been allocated their first choice of school.
Parents will today receive letters indicating which school their youngsters will go to. Oxfordshire County Council has said 90 per cent of those will get their first choice.
But three per cent of Oxfordshire 11-year-olds will not be going to their first, second or third choice of school.
Nationwide, it is understood up to 120,000 of the 560,000 families receiving letters this morning will be disappointed.
