I can't imagine your readers are going to be terribly interested in several pages of debate with Vim Rodrigo about a leaflet he has received (Oxford Mail, February 25).
However, three points are worth making. On local schools, as Mr Rodrigo knows, these are the responsibility of the county council, and I really don't think there is a lot city councillors can do.
I have met the sponsors to discuss ways in which the wider local community can benefit from the academy.
As a governor of Rose Hill Primary School, I have seen the huge improvement in the school in recent times, recognised by Ofsted.
But the "fresh start" bid would really help, if new buildings or extra funds can be provided.
Secondly, one of the biggest demands is for improved youth facilities.
I have worked closely with the youth leader, and the city is doing its bit, but again I hope the county can be persuaded to provide further support.
Finally, on the Orlit redevelopment, I don't think it's perfect, but I am just relieved that it's got going at last.
I suppose I do think the bottle is half full - and perhaps Mr Rodrigo thinks it's half empty.
But I honestly think councillors and residents are working hard to take things in a positive direction.
