Sir - So RWE npower have finally admitted that the Radley Lakes campaigners were right all along. There never was a "need" to fill the Thrupp Lake with ash.
After all, if recycling the ash is an option now, it clearly always was (though perhaps at a slightly different price). My only fear is that this might be a manoeuvre to get us to let our guard down, and then they might suddenly decide they "need" to fill the lake after all. In the meantime, it would be nice to see a public apology for the destruction they have already caused in "necessary preparatory work" for the "now unnecessary" filling.
