A NEW discount supermarket planned for Grove could start construction next Spring.
The Vale of White Horse District Council’s planning committee granted permission for the store to be built on a green field east of Grove Road, next to Elm Farm Business Park.
Lidl and GSC Estates first submitted plans about two years but they were rejected over concerns it would take up too much green space.

A new application was submitted in February this year which, after mass public support, was approved unanimously this month.
A spokesperson for Lidl said it is too early to confirm exact days for construction to begin but they are aiming for next spring.
Ryan McDonnell, CEO of Lidl, said: “Our belief has always been that no one should have to pay a premium for good food and we have an unwavering commitment to provide our customers with the best products at the lowest possible prices.
“Whether it is fresh produce, staple shopping list items or a must-have product from the Middle of Lidl, customers can be sure that they are getting the best value when they visit us.
“That is why we continue to see shoppers switching to Lidl, and it’s why our market share has consistently grown.
