A DRINK-DRIVER died after he was involved in two accidents in less than half an hour, an inquest heard today.
Stephen Kamau was almost four times the drink-drive limit when he died at the wheel of his Vauxhall Astra on the A4074 near Sandford Road, the inquest heard.
Witnesses told Oxfordshire coroner Nicholas Gardiner, Mr Kamau, 37, from Amory Close, Cowley, collided with a vehicle in Caversham, Reading, and they saw him driving erratically for 20 minutes as he headed towards Oxford on July 22.
Adrian Stanley, from Brentford Close, Cholsey, who was driving behind Mr Kamau, said his daughter rang the police twice because Mr Kamau's driving was "an accident waiting to happen".
Giuseppe Damiano, of Wytham Street, Oxford, witnessed the car rebounding off trees by the side of the A4074 and back on to the carriageway.
The car overturned on to its roof and was struck by a Peugeot, said accident investigator PC Terry Anderson.
He added Mr Kamau was estimated to have been driving at 68mph - within the speed limit - when he veered off the road at 10pm.
Kenyan-born Mr Kamau suffered several injuries which could have been responsible for his death including to his spinal column, the inquest heard.
Mr Gardiner recorded a verdict that Mr Kamau died as the result of an accident, and said it was impossible to tell which of the two collisions led to the injuries that caused his death.
