UKRAINIAN refugees in Oxfordshire can now get free bus passes.

Oxfordshire County Council, the highways authority, introduced the scheme to support Ukrainians who have found refuge across the county.

The free bus passes last for three months and work on Oxford Bus Company, Stagecoach, Arriva, and Thames Travel.

Refugees applying for the passes will have to choose an area within Oxfordshire for the bus pass so the highways authority can recommended the best bus company to apply the pass to.

Liberal democrat MP Layla Moran, who represents Oxford West and Abingdon, said: “This is a fantastic scheme by the Lib Dem-led administration at Oxfordshire County Council, providing free bus travel to refugees from Ukraine.”
