The theme of Fairtrade Fortnight 2008 which runs from Monday until March 9, is Change Today, Choose Fairtrade Many shops, eateries and othe venues around the county will be taking part in the event The Fairtrade Bus will be stopping off at towns around the UK, although Oxfor is not included on the tour However, you can hop on board at he bus at Birmingham on March 6, or Bristol on March 9.
Aspiring cooks across the UK hav contributed to The Fairtrade Everyda Cookbook, through a public competition launched last Fairtrade Fortnight. The book which has been edited b Oxfordshire food writer and TV chef Sophie Grigson, pulls together 15 mouth-watering new recipes using delicious Fairtrade ingredients High-profile chefs and celebritie including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall Antony Worrall Thompson and Stev Redgrave have also contributed.
As well as showing readers how easy it is to eat Fairtrade foods every day, the book introduces individual producers from around the world, giving an insigh into how their communities hav benefitted.
