Oxford-based rockers Young Knives played an intimate free city centre gig in front of about 100 fans tonight.
The band played for half an hour at HMV, in Cornmarket Street, to promote their new single Up All Night. The trio, who recently dropped the prefix 'The' from their band name, played six songs including Decision, Terra Firma and She's Attracted To.
Lead singer Henry Dartnall said after the show: "We haven't played together live for about a month, and it was a good warm-up for our show at the London Astoria tomorrow night. It's always nice to play in front of our home crowd and the new stuff seemed to get a good reaction."
Ben Phillips, 20, from Abingdon, said the atmosphere was excellent, adding: "It was really good to see them in such a small space again."
Val Brennan, 62, from Kidlington, said: "I came along after reading about it in the Oxford Mail. I thought they were great - I loved the guitars."
