I too believe animals used for halal meat is slaughtered cruelly, but I wonder how many of the families featured in your article about Rose Hill Primary School in Oxford (Oxford Mail, February 20) practise what they preach?
As they celebrate their success at overturning a policy to use the Islamic-friendly meat on the school's lunch menu, I would like to ask how many of them buy cheap, intensively-farmed chicken and pork from Tesco?
Do they all pick free-range eggs off supermarket shelves?
If they don't, I doubt they would admit it on the record. But I do hope their conscience is clear.
