Two women have been arrested after a raid on a brothel.
Police raided a property in People's Place, Banbury at about 7pm yesterday.
Two women aged 44 and 34, who were both Thailand nationals, were arrested for immigration offences.
The 44-year-old was also cautioned for being involved in the running of a brothel.
Police were joined on the operation by officials from the Immigration Department.
Sgt Larry Johnson said: "There was no suggestion these women had been trafficked, but they were illegal immigrants. Our colleagues from Immigration will be processing them and they will be deported shortly.
"This warrant was undertaken after we received complaints about the activity surrounding this brothel. Local residents were becoming concerned about the number of people who were visiting the property and the character of those people.
"We have been liaising with residents, including a leaflet drop by our Police Community Support Officers, to inform them of our operation and feedback has been very positive. Neighbourhood policing is all about responding to the needs of local people; we urge anyone else who may be worried that similar activity is going on in their area to contact us."
Sgt Johnson and his team can be contacted via the police inquiry centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don't want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
