WORK continues to implement new cycle routes across Oxford.

Quickways are cycle routes designed to provide a direct route into the city centre, and are ‘generally used by more confident cyclists’, according to Oxfordshire County Council.

What to expect on quickway routes:

  • Mandatory segregated cycle lanes
  • Advisory cycle lanes
  • Advanced stop lines at junctions and crossings
  • Centre line removal
  • Removal of permit holder, shared use and unrestricted parking spaces
  • Improved pedestrian crossings
  • Continuous cross overs at some junctions
  • 20mph speed limits

The scheme is being implemented in the following areas:

  • Cowley Road/Oxford Road
  • Iffley Road/Rose Hill
  • Morrell Avenue/Warneford Lane
  • Marston Road
  • Donnington Bridge Road
