WORK continues to implement new cycle routes across Oxford.
Quickways are cycle routes designed to provide a direct route into the city centre, and are ‘generally used by more confident cyclists’, according to Oxfordshire County Council.
What to expect on quickway routes:
- Mandatory segregated cycle lanes
- Advisory cycle lanes
- Advanced stop lines at junctions and crossings
- Centre line removal
- Removal of permit holder, shared use and unrestricted parking spaces
- Improved pedestrian crossings
- Continuous cross overs at some junctions
- 20mph speed limits
The scheme is being implemented in the following areas:
- Cowley Road/Oxford Road
- Iffley Road/Rose Hill
- Morrell Avenue/Warneford Lane
- Marston Road
- Donnington Bridge Road
