BROADCASTER Sir David Attenborough visited Oxford yesterday to sign copies of his latest book, Life in Cold Blood.
More than 100 fans queued to meet Sir David at Borders Bookshop in Magdalen Street between 4.30pm to 5.30pm. Some arrived shortly after 1pm.
The series Life in Cold Blood, now showing on BBC1, focuses on reptiles and amphibians, and is to be the broadcaster's last major series, although he is also working on programmes about Charles Darwin and evolution, which will be shown next year.
The father-of-two, the younger brother of director and actor Richard Attenborough, is a patron of the Pitt Rivers Museum in Parks Road.
Borders' spokesman Charlie Hayes said: "Sir David was only in the store for an hour but we were delighted to welcome him here. He's a screen icon and a broadcasting legend."
