DRIVERS in and around Oxfordshire will have several National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows the following closures across the county: 

Oxford

• A34, from 8pm June 1 2022 to 6am March 31 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Peartree Interchange, major works advance warning signage only for Oxfordshire County Council works.

• A34, from 6am August 1 2022 to 11.59pm July 20 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Peartree Interchange, Lane closures on the exit slips for Oxfordshire County Council works.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

• A34, from 8pm August 12 to 6am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Peartree to Islip, Lane closures for barrier works.

South Oxfordshire 

• M40, from 9pm August 7 to 6am August 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 7 to junction 6, Lane closures due to maintenance work.

And a further 17 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M40, from 9.30pm August 8 to 6am August 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 8a, entry slip road closure for maintenance works.

• M40, from 9.30pm August 8 to 6am August 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M40 northbound, diversion route, From, junction 8a to junction 6 then return northbound to junction 8a.
