Sir - My last train trip by First Great Western was on Saturday at 12.30pm from Oxford to Paddington.
The carriage was in an appalling condition having not been cleaned from the previous day's travel.
I complained, as usual, to FGW who gave the usual corporate PR spin reply and this time included some compensation. It seems they sometimes run uncleaned trains because they don't want to run late. If they can't manage to clean a train within five hours of its departure one wonders how they will ever be able to meet any of their more ambitious targets.
There were no ticket inspectors on the train either so my advice to all travellers is to ride in the First Class compartment and then complain about the state of the train thus scamming your £10 sorry voucher.
