TWO shops sold alcohol to underage customers in an operation mounted in south Oxfordshire.
Twelve establishments were tested on Saturday night, ten passed and two failed.
Tesco Express in Cockcroft Road, Didcot, and the Wine Rack in St Mary's Street, Wallingford, failed the test and sold alcohol to underage customers. They were fined £80 fixed penalty notice.
Tony Cope, licensing officer, said: "We will be visiting other licensed premises across Oxfordshire prosecuting staff selling to underage customers, and promoting the Think 21 scheme'. Anyone found repeatedly selling may have their licenses put at risk of being revoked."
Police are also warning teenagers they will have alcohol confiscated on the streets across Oxfordshire as part of a crackdown on underage drinking and antisocial behaviour.
The operation started on February 8 and is being co-ordinating by Thames Valley Police licensing officers. It runs for two weeks ending on February 24.
