An off-duty taxi driver who drove into a pedestrian in the middle of Oxford's London Road, causing fatal injuries, has been found not guilty of careless driving.
Mokbul Hussain, 56, of Heather Place, Marston, was cleared of the charge by city magistrates this afternoon.
Father-of-one Anthony Oliver, 29, of Marston Road, died at the John Radcliffe Hospital after he was hit by Mr Hussain's Toyota at about 1am on June 4, 2006.
Mr Hussain's family greeted the verdict with cries of "yes" from the public gallery.
