Customers of Tesco Metro in Cowley Road, Oxford, are being asked to be patient while major works are being carried out to the interior of the store.
The shop is currently undergoing a "refresh" - meaning shoppers have to move around scaffolding throughout the store to pick up their groceries.
Tesco spokesman Juliette Bishopcor said: "At the moment we have scaffolding erected inside the store while we put up a new ceiling and we would asked customers to bear with us while we improve the store.
"Over the coming weeks the store will be redecorated, have new shelving and signs fitted, along with more energy efficient refrigeration."
New features will include a Tesco Direct desk, where products such as furniture and electrical equipment can be ordered and delivered to customers.
The store has also said there will be an increased range of beers, wines and food.
