CUSTOMERS of Tesco Metro in Cowley Road, Oxford, are being asked to be patient while major works are being carried out to the interior of the store.
The shop is undergoing a "refresh" - meaning shoppers have to move around scaffolding throughout the store to pick up their groceries.
Tesco spokesman Juliette Bishop said: "At the moment we have scaffolding erected inside the store while we put up a new ceiling and we would asked customers to bear with us while we improve the store.
"Over the coming weeks the store will be redecorated, have new shelving and signs fitted, along with more energy efficient refrigeration."
New features will include a Tesco Direct desk, where thousands of products such as furniture and electrical equipment can be ordered and delivered to customers.
An increased range of beers and wines from around the world and a wider selection of Polish food, drinks and ready meals, including flaki (tripe) and golabki (stuffed boiled cabbage leaves), will be introduced.
Miss Bishop said the bakery, dairy, hot chicken counter, fresh fruit and vegetable and clothing sections of the shop would also be improved.
The checkouts will be upgraded for a faster service and the layout redesigned to offer shoppers more room to browse.
