The only way to stop accidents involving cyclists is to make all cyclists have an eye test to see if they can distinguish red from green.
The Highway Code states that you should stop when the lights are red. It is amazing the number of cyclists who still cross on a red light.
I also take issue with the county council over the idea of raising the road surface at the Broad Street/Parks Road junction in Oxford to improve safety (Oxford Mail, February 14).
It is a waste of taxpayers' money and should be kicked into touch.
How dare the council think of vast expenditure when it is cutting back finances on the elderly and infirm and on youth services to name a few.
