A 21-YEAR-OLD man suffered serious head injuries in a hit-and-run collision.
The man was crossing Oxford Road in Bicester, near Bicester Community Hospital, at about 7.40pm yesterday when he was hit by a van.
The van's wing mirror fell to the ground in the collision before it was driven away towards Bicester Village without stopping.
The pedestrian has serious head injuries and is today in a serious but stable condition at the John Radcliffe Hospital following surgery last night.
Sgt Pete Jell, of Bicester Roads Policing Department, said: "The driver failed to stop after the incident.
"During the incident the nearside wing mirror fell off the van and was left at the scene.
"Firstly, I appeal to the driver of this van to get in touch with police. I would also like to appeal to anyone who has seen a van, which we believe could be a Vauxhall Vivaro, a Nissan Primstar or Renault Traffic, with an 05 or 55 registration, with a wing mirror missing to contact police immediately."
Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or speak anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
