A DALEK and a Cyberman invaded Oxford as Doctor Who star John Barrowman signed copies of his autobiography, Anything Goes.
Alex Grisbrooke, five, and his six-year-old brother Adam dressed up as their favourite characters for the event at Borders in Magdalen Street.
The boys, from north Oxford, queued twice with their mother Sharon to see the Torchwood actor and get pictures with him. Alex said: "I came here to exterminate him. He was very funny."
Mrs Grisbrooke said: "We are all big Doctor Who fans. I think they came here to exterminate him, but just fell in love with him."
Mr Barrowman, who was greeted by screams and wolfwhistles from fans who had queued all afternoon, signed more than 450 copies of his book.
He said: "I have been really overwhelmed by how many people turned out. What is really cool is that a lot of them were families."
Mr Barrowman, who was accompanied for the signing by his sister Carole, had previously only visited Oxford to record Torchwood audio books.
