DOZENS of people turned up to Abingdon Fire Station for its first open day since the coronavirus pandemic.
Families visited the fire station in Ock Street to meet local fire crews and take part in demonstrations and games.
Fire fighters and members of staff at the station answered questions about the service and volunteering, and there were also stalls selling cakes, a BBQ, a penalty shootout game, ice creams, a range of emergency vehicles on show and a bouncy castle.

The station hadn’t held an open day since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 and the crews said they were “really pleased” to meet the visitors.
The fire station is also looking for on-call firefighters to join their team. For more information, visit https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/oncallfirefighters
