AN AMATEUR photographer will have his photo displayed in a new photobook devoted to driving, after winning a competition.
Lez Dix, 45, of Bishop Orchard, East Hagbourne, near Didcot, entered the national contest to find iconic pictures of motoring, with his photograph of the Ford Mustang emblem landing a place in the Dunlop Tyres charity photobook The Thrill of the Drive.
Mr Dix's image was one of 100 photos chosen. He said: "The Ford Mustang emblem is the icon of the American muscle car."
He took the picture at the Sunday Times 'In Gear' Supercar Run at the 2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
James Bailey of Dunlop Tyres, said: "We had more than 500 entries with images that covered every element of motoring and motorsport from design elements to on-track action.
"We're extremely proud to display the work of photographers across the UK in a book that will be loved by anyone who is passionate about driving in all its forms."
Money raised from book sales will go to the Motorsport Safety Fund.
