THE Diocese of Oxford is encouraging church-goers to join in a 'Love Life, Live Lent' campaign, started last year by the Church of England.
Last year, more than 130,000 people joined in with the initiative, which sent 'inspirational' text messages to those who signed up.
This year, the 'good neighbour' campaign will use social networking websites, Facebook, Myspace and Flickr to share ideas for daily charitable or friendly actions to make Lent a pleasant time for everyone.
The ideas range from leaving a thank-you note for the postman to going for a whole day without gossiping.
Other suggestions include trying to limit a day's budget to just £1.40, volunteering to work in a prison or supporting a prisoner's family, and finding out the names of your closest neighbours.
