Well done to Vanessa Chambers for highlighting the constant dumping of unwanted things in the East Oxford area (Oxford Mail, February 6).
This has happened for as long as I can remember.
Anything that is unsavoury to the rest of Oxford gets dumped on the people of East Oxford.
When I heard the city council had decided on potential new wind farm sites, I thought here we go - I wonder where they will be? Cumnor Hill?, Boars Hill? Plenty of wind there.
Or perhaps, as Ms Chambers suggested, Cutteslowe or Wolvercote. Then, I thought, Oxford University wants to build in Wolvercote, so it won't be there - no chance. Then a reality check set in - of course, it would be in East Oxford, silly me.
I am sure the good parish councils of Horspath and Nuneham will have something to say about the chosen sites.
I always thought Sandford Brake was a protected area.
Lastly, I thought the city council offices would be a good place to have a mini wind farm because, after all, there is plenty of wind spoken there!
