Cowley Road was closed this evening after an alleged ‘shooting’ saw police descend on the scene.
The incident saw traffic at a stand-still and part of the road closed off while police investigated.

What happened?
Police believe that a firearm was discharged on Cowley Road this evening.
Following the incident they have launched an appeal and said a man, who was sitting in a vehicle, was approached and shot in the arm.
A member of the public who was on Cowley Road at the time also said a man was shot in the shoulder by another man.
Multiple police vehicles and officers were seen at the scene as well as an ambulance.
A police photographer also arrived to take pictures of the scene.
The Oxford Mail has approached Thames Valley Police for comment.
Was anyone injured?
One man was allegedly shot in the shoulder and an ambulance crew were seen at the incident.
The man was taken to hospital and is not believed to be in a serious condition.

Cowley Road was closed for around an hour and half but has now reopened.
