News that another bank is set to close down has come just days after a Lloyds branch in Oxford shut its doors forever.
The Wallingford branch of Lloyds Bank, in Market Place, has announced it will shut on January 23 2023.
Sharing information about the closure with customers, the bank revealed just 223 people regularly used it in the last 12 months.

The figures also showed in-person transactions at the Wallingford branch for personal banking had fallen 53 per cent since 2017 while cashpoint transactions had fallen 64 per cent during the same period.
Lloyds Bank also highlighted a majority of customers using the branch in-person were aged 55 to 74 (34 per cent) with people aged 18 and below accounting for two per cent.
A spokesperson for Lloyds Bank said: “Like many other high street businesses, we’ve seen people using our branches less frequently in recent years as more customers choose to do most of their everyday banking online.
“We’re responding to the way our customers use our branches. We’ll continue to invest in our branch network, but we have to make sure our branches are where customers need and use them most.
“As a result, we've made the difficult decision to close this branch because customers are using it less often. In addition the majority of customers are also using alternative ways to bank.”
