POLICE are studying CCTV footage of an attack on a RAF serviceman which left him with a broken leg after it and his head were stamped on.
Senior Aircraftsman Peter Forrest, 24, is recovering in hospital following the attack by a gang of teenagers on a bus in Carterton on Saturday.
He was then attacked again when he left the bus in Brize Norton Road, at about 2am.
Police spokesman Toby Shergold said: "Officers will be assessing the CCTV footage from the bus and continuing to look for witnesses or anyone in the area at the time."
Officers are also liaising with Brize Norton airbase, Mr Shergold added.
Police believe SAC Forrest was first attacked by a group of five or six 15 or 16-year-olds on the N100 bus, which left Witney town centre at 1.30am.
One of the youths is described as about 5ft 6in, of medium build, with mousy brown hair and wearing a green and white hooded top.
Anyone with information should call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
