Sir - In these days of climate change, I am surprised that the Bod intends to use van transport for their books . . . this will seem a bit old-fashioned in the future - whether or not the repository itself is in the right place and gets planning permission.
What about a cable car (which could also take people from the station to the centre of town). Apart from the cables (not much worse than the electricity pylons around Botley Road), you wouldn't see the cable car when it is docked at either end.
Furthermore tourists could have a lovely view of the castle and prison and it could dock in the new Westgate centre. Or perhaps the depository should really be somewhere else in Oxford?
