An Oxford tour guide has dreamed up a half-term treat for families who want to explore Oxford - a book in the form of a treasure hunt.
Felicity Tholstrup, who lives in Northmoor Road, said the idea for the book came after she was asked to organise a treasure hunt last year to raise money for the Q Trust for Muscular Dystrophy.
"Some 226 children and their families took part, and many of them asked me to create something similar as a book," she said. "I have launched it in time for school half-term."
A series of clues lead people on a quest for shrunken heads, underground windows, priceless jewels and dinosaur footprints.
Ms Tholstrup added: "It will tap into your imagination as you learn about pioneering aeronauts, scientists and others who lived here in the past."
A typical clue reads: "On westernmost window of a college on the High A monk with no manners looks down from the sky.
Some of those faces may give you a fright, But what is he doing that is really not polite?"
The book also contains a map and a concise history of Oxford. Quite the best Oxford Quest costs £5 at Blackwell's and other city bookshops.
