Alex Thomas bagged a brace as Vale of White Horse Under 11s twice came from behind to draw 2-2 against Portsmouth in the County League.
Vale fell behind after just four minutes of the clash at the Oxford Brookes Westminster Institute of Education when Liam Kimber finished off a breakway with a shot past keeper Eddie Cavanagh.
But Vale equalised straight from the restart with Ashley Bayliss sliding a pass across the area for Thomas to rifle home a shot.
A minute later, Cavanagh made a terrific reflex save, but from the resultant corner Portsmouth regained the lead.
Vale had to wait until well into the second half to draw level when Kieran Cooper crossed to Thomas, and he beat three defenders before shooting home.
A POOR first-half display saw Mid Oxon Under 15s crash out of the Hobbs Cup with a 5-0 defeat by East Berks in the first round at Piggery School, near Marlow.
Mid Oxon conceded four goals in the opening period, and although they rallied after the break, the damage had already been done.
