Oxford rock band Supergrass have been confirmed as one of the headliners at this summer's popular Cropredy Convention.
The Wheatley four piece, who have scored six top 10 singles, will round off the opening night of the three-day music festival in August.
Other acts scheduled to play the long-running event in the north Oxfordshire village include Levellers and Midge Ure.
As is traditional at the festival, Fairport Convention will round off proceedings with a three-hour set on Saturday evening.
Festival director Gareth Williams said: "I have been trying for three years to get Supergrass and they have finally said yes.
"It is wonderful news.
"I have seen them many times. I was involved with a little-known guitar combo called Oasis - I was a sound guy for them - and Supergrass used to open for them.
"I knew they were all nice lads, played great music and they were from Oxford, so it all fits in.
"The reaction so far has all been positive. They are one of those bands, whether they are playing a biker festival or a folk festival, that always go down well."
Mr Williams said one more big-name act was poised to be confirmed to play on the second day of the festival.
He said: "There is one more major artist to be announced for the Friday. We are just waiting for his band and tour manager to confirm.
"I have to keep schtum about it at the moment, but I will dangle a carrot and say he is Irish.
"The reaction to the whole line-up has been very good. Every year we have raised the bar for the festival and I think we have maintained that this year.
"I have had emails from people saying they were not sure about coming, because it is not an anniversary year, but they have now seen who is playing and they say they will definitely be there."
