I write this letter more in sorrow than in anger.
Once again, your correspondent from the Independent Working Class Association has got it wrong (Oxford Mail, February 2).
With regard to the gating order for Windale Avenue, it has been the pressure from councillor Val Smith and me that has finally got the proposal on to the county council's forward plan agenda for March 27.
If we had not pressed for this, it would have slipped back even further.
Secondly, I can assure him that he is wrong in surmising that I have found the interests of the Blackbird Leys' residents less pressing - I started representing them in 1979.
Thirdly, I do not live in Old Marston - I live in Headington at an address which is publicly available.
