WORK has started to give an Oxford children's centre a £316,000 overhaul.
Pictured with hard hats at the ready are Leah Hastings and Kami Walls, both three, with teacher Jo Rooney.
The Windale Children's Centre, in Windale Avenue, Blackbird Leys, will be given a new lease of life thanks to funding from the Government.
The building's kitchen, family room and training room will all be updated over the next four months.
Improvements will also be made to the entrance to Windale Primary School, which occupies the same site.
The school's reception area will get a new public information point with computer links to information from JobCentre Plus and Oxcis, the children's information service.
Sara Collingwood, the school manager, said: "It's very exciting for the school and the children's centre.
"The most visible thing will be the new entrance to the school, which will have much better disabled and pushchair access.
