THE cream of Oxfordshire's professional dancers are set to make an exhibition of themselves when they perform an unusual show.
As part of the Oxford Open exhibition, at Modern Art Oxford, Pembroke Street, a troupe of dancers will be taking part in a so-called 'live dance installation' at the gallery. The improvised event will feature dancers setting up shop in different parts of the gallery from Tuesday to Friday.
Among those who taking part in the MeterMetre display is Thomas Wilson, 30, from Chipping Norton.
He said: "The brief for the exhibition was that artists had to work within a metre square, so the aim for the movement performances is for us to make movements that fit within that contained space."
Mr Wilson, who will perform at different times on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, said he would be taking the landscape as his theme and would be dancing in hiking boots within his metre square.
Admission to the gallery is free.
