A 60-year-old man is seriously ill after a crash near Burford.
Police said the man was cycling along the B4020 Shilton Road, from Burford towards Carterton at about 6.20pm yesterday when the accident happened.
A spokesman said the man stopped to allow two cars to pass before turning right into the turning for Barley Lane Bed and Breakfast when he collided with a scooter travelling behind the two vehicles.
Sgt Jack Hawkins, of Bicester Roads Policing Department, said: "The man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 19-year-old woman who was driving the scooter received minor injuries.
"I am particularly keen to speak to the drivers of the two cars that passed the cyclist at that junction as they may be able to assist our inquiries."
Anyone with information about the collision is urged to contact Sgt Hawkins via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don't want to speak to police and don't want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
