A BUILDER has been convicted of causing the death of a former Banbury man in a car crash while driving on the wrong side of a country road in France.
James Lee, 33, collided head-on with Erik Williams's car in Brittany on March 1 last year.
Lee received a five-month suspended jail term after being convicted in his absence at a court in Argentan of involuntary homicide in a road accident and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Relatives of Mr Williams, a 58-year-old single man who moved to France from Banbury in 2000, hit out at the sentence.
