PEOPLE have complained about an alleged group of drivers making noise in a car park in Wantage.

A resident has said a “group” of drivers have been reportedly driving “noisy” cars around Kings Park in Limborough Road.

On Facebook group “Spotted: Wantage, Grove and surrounding villages”, the resident said: “Is anyone else getting sick of these noisy cars in and around the town centre?

“One group seem to hang out in the small car park opposite Kings Park by the new flats. It's happened nearly every night for the last month.

“I’m kindly asking them to tone it back or the police will be notified of their number plates with potential for fines to be issued as my young children keep getting woken up by them.”

Another resident agreed and noted she had heard an “awful” car driving up and down Chain Hill.

They added: “Please can you try and drive in a considerate manner through built up or residential areas?

“It would be so nice not to have my dogs terrified and wetting themselves because of the unnecessary noise.”

However, not everyone agreed the alleged noise was an issue. One person commented: “Never understood why people complain of traffic noise coming from a car park where’s there is bound to be traffic.

“It’s a bit like living near a church then complaining about the bells being noisy.”
