JEREMY CLARKSON has paid tribute to one of his pigs after it died in the heatwave.

Yesterday, temperatures in Oxfordshire were record-breaking, according to official figures from the Met Office.

Temperatures reached 38.4C in Benson at 2pm – beating the previous record for the county, 36.5C recorded by the Met Office in 2019.

Animal-welfare charity RSPCA warned that the extreme weather could be a 'life or death situation' for animals.

Writing on Twitter today, the Oxfordshire Top-Gear presenter turned farmer announced the tragic news.

He said the 'big pig' had fallen victim to the 'global warming' - which is 'thankfully' now over.

He said: "Thankfully, the global warming is now over but tragically, its brief visit took the life of my big pig. RIP pig."
